Coach Shawn in a team huddle with TTC athletes

Head Coach Shawn Scott
After organizing a small group that practiced and competed in the 2013 State Games of America meet in Harrisburg, Coach Shawn decided to take the next step and form an official club. Over the last 12+ seasons, Shawn has grown TTC from a dozen interested kids to more than 100 members! He has coached athletes through both casual and formal meet formats including the USATF and AAU Junior Olympic series meets, and he’s had the privilege of coaching athletes who have competed at the national level.

While competition is important, Coach Shawn believes in hard work and a never-give-up attitude. He loves to see these kids have fun and get excited about what they’re doing. “It’s ok to be nervous, but don’t be scared,” is his motto for the youngsters who are entering their first meet experiences.

Coach Shawn lives in York Suburban School District with his wife, Lissa, and two children. Shawn has experience coaching track at the high school level and was a state qualifying sprinter in high school. While he has never considered himself a distance runner, he has also competed in several half marathons. Go Coach!

OUR COACHES

TTC is an organization built on a shared love of Track & Field and a lot of volunteer hours investing in these youth athletes. Thank you for all you do to teach, mentor and lead these kids – we couldn’t do this without you!

Coach Tony Jones Sr.
Tony began his athletic career at William Penn High School, participating in basketball, football and track and field. He has coached track and field locally for over 40 years including as long-time head coach at William Penn High School. Tony has coached several state, district and county champions in his career with many of his athletes moving on to compete at a collegiate level and was named Best York County Sprint Coach by the YAIAA in 1988. Coach Jones puts a focus on proper form and technique with a focus on sprints and relays.

Coach Jeremy Fuhrman
Jeremy attended South Western High School where he participated in golf, basketball, and track. As a track and field athlete, his focus was jumps, sprints, and mid-distance. He continued his track career at Shippensburg University, competing for four years as a jumper and pentathlete. Jeremy has been coaching TTC track and Dallastown youth basketball since 2022. His focus with TTC has been in the jumping events. Jeremy enjoys helping our young athletes improve their jumping technique while having fun and keeping a positive attitude.

Coach Jen Rebert
Jen Rebert has always loved track and field, and it’s been a huge part of her life for as long as she can remember. She set the Red Lion school records in long jump and triple jump, making her mark in high school as a PIAA state champion in both events. Her achievements earned her a spot as number 10 on YDR’s list of greatest athletes of all time in Red Lion. She went on to compete at the University of Pennsylvania, where she kept pushing herself as an athlete. But her love for the sport didn’t end after college—she’s been sharing her knowledge and experience with young athletes ever since. She spent several years coaching at Red Lion High School before moving on to work with long and triple jumpers at Dallastown Area High School. With TTC, Jen is all about helping her athletes grow, improve, and have fun. She’s passionate about the sport and loves seeing her jumpers gain confidence and reach new heights (and distances)—both on and off the track.

Coach Dave Weaver
Dave began running track as a distance runner at Mechanicsburg High School but transitioned to sprinting and hurdling. He went on to be a sprinter/hurdler at a collegiate level for Slippery Rock University. He now enjoys distance running with a local running group. He is wonderful with our young athletes and has a good eye for fixing form issues. Coach Dave has been coaching with us for the past seven seasons.

After high school, she attended Slippery Rock University where she competed in the 100m and 400m hurdles and was a member of the 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams.
