Head Coach Shawn Scott
After organizing a small group that practiced and competed in the 2013 State Games of America meet in Harrisburg, Coach Shawn decided to take the next step and form an official club. Over the last six seasons, Shawn has grown TTC from a dozen interested kids to more than 100 members! He has coached athletes through both casual and formal meet formats including the Junior Olympic series meets. And, he’s had the privilege of coaching athletes who have competed at the national level.
While competition is important, Coach Shawn believes in hard work and a never-give-up attitude. He loves to see these kids have fun and get excited about what they’re doing. “It’s ok to be nervous, but don’t be scared,” is his motto for the youngsters who are entering their first meet experiences.
Coach Shawn lives in York Suburban School District with his wife, Lissa, and two children. Shawn has experience coaching track at the high school level and was a state qualifying sprinter in high school. While he has never considered himself a distance runner, he has more recently running half marathons. Go Coach!
TTC is an organization built on a shared love of Track & Field and a lot of volunteer hours investing in these youth athletes. Thank you for all you do to teach, mentor and lead these kids – we couldn’t do this without you!
