Head Coach Shawn Scott
After organizing a small group that practiced and competed in the 2013 State Games of America meet in Harrisburg, Coach Shawn decided to take the next step and form an official club. Over the last four seasons, Shawn has grown TTC from a dozen interested kids to more than 100 members! He has coached athletes through both casual and formal meet formats including the Junior Olympic series meets. And, he’s had the privilege of coaching two athletes who have competed at the national Junior Olympic Championships.
While competition is important, Coach Shawn believes in hard work and a never-give-up attitude. He loves to see these kids have fun and get excited about what they’re doing. “It’s ok to be nervous, but don’t be scared,” is his motto for the youngsters who are entering their first meet experiences.
Coach Shawn lives in York Suburban School District with his wife, Lissa, and two children. Shawn has previously coached track at the high school level and was a state qualifying sprinter for his high school track team. While he has never considered himself a distance runner, he has also completed three half marathons. Go Coach!
TTC is an organization built on a shared love of Track & Field and a lot of volunteer hours investing in these youth athletes. Thank you for all you do to teach, mentor and lead these kids – we couldn’t do this without you!
Coach Matt Marcini
Matt comes to TTC from a rich background in distance running. He is a 2004 U.S. Olympic marathon trials runner and ran at the college level for Eastern Michigan University. Matt teaches at Eastern York Middle School and has coaching experience at both the high school and junior high levels. This is Matt’s first year coaching with TTC and we’re super excited to have his distance expertise!
Coach Joe Klinedinst
Joe has been involved with sports his entire life focusing on baseball, football and wrestling in high school and was a 4-year letter winning wrestler for Millersville University’s Division I team.
Coach Joe has countless years of experience coaching athletes from elementary to college levels. During that time, he began getting serious about endurance sports and running. He gave up coaching and started training and racing but his absence from coaching did not last long. When Dallastown’s varsity track team needed a distance coach, he joined the staff for about 4 years.
More recently, Joe has been racing for an elite amateur triathlon team based in San Diego, California. He has raced in over 20 marathons and 3 Ironman competitions including a trip to Kona last fall for the World Championships – Nice! Coach Joe lives in the York area with his wife, Danielle, and 2 daughters and is currently training for another Ironman this summer and the half Ironman World Championships in September. Go get em, Coach Joe!

While at Slippery Rock she was a 2 time All-American and earned a 3rd place finish in the Division II National Championships in the 400m hurdles. This is Coach Nikki’s third season with TTC and we are glad to have her help lead our hurdlers.
Coach Dave Weaver
Dave began running track as a distance runner at Mechanicsburg High School but transitioned to sprinting and hurdling. He went on to be a sprinter/hurdler at a collegiate level for Slippery Rock University. He now enjoys distance running with a local running group.
